Christina Ifurung is the owner of Kapwa Healing. She has a 1:1 sanctuary in Centennial where she holds sacred sessions that include, reiki, chakra assessments, sound healing and mentorship rooted in her ancestry. Kapwa is derived from the Filipinx term “pagkikipagkapwa”coined by Viriligio Enriquez which stands for an inner connectedness and shared self. Hi, I’m Kimmy Hidalgo, medicine woman, yogi realtor, and mama to a fiery 6 year old girl. My mission is to channel love and help bring healing to this planet. 

My inward, healing journey began when I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. Told it would never be cured, I chose the holistic path of healing. On that path I was shown the beauty of ancient healing wisdom, one that was already within, waiting to be unlocked. This began my journey of my undoing- undoing all that I was told to be and all that I was told to think. Through movement, breathe work (including screaming and singing), meditation, and other holistic medicines, I began to discover my true authentic self, cure myself of Graves’ disease, and love myself fully.

This is why I do what I do now. I love teaching and showing others how to unlock their sacred ancient wisdom, already within, so they too can discover all that they are created to do and be. In my classes and events, I offer many different healing modalities  - embodiment movement, yoga, breathe work, shamanic journey, dance, womb blessing, and more.

Hi y'all. I'm a Denver native (I actually grew up around the corner from Sakala, and it's one of my favorite parts of practicing at Sakala). I am thrilled to connect with you! Certified as a yoga teacher in 2019 (200-hour), I added Yoga Nidra in 2022 (Nidra I/II, 60-hour), and it's truly my favorite yogic practice. I first found Yoga Nidra in 2008 during college and have struggled to find spaces offering the practice. Gratitude fills me to share the practice within the Sakala community. 

Additionally, I've immersed myself in shamanic studies and am a practitioner of Mayan Cosmology and Spirituality with permission and recognition of the Mayans in the high mountains of Guatemala. The beauty lies in the interconnectedness of the two practices and how, through the practice, we foster expanded consciousness and inner peace.

I am excited to offer Yoga Nidra to the Sakala community on the 3rd Thursday of each month. As we come together as a community, we will seek balance for the entire being by integrating the day's Mayan energy, inviting its support for cosmic healing and rejuvenation. The synergy of Yoga Nidra and the practice of Mayan cosmology offers a profound invitation to deep healing. I am super excited to share this transformative fusion with you at Sakala. I can't wait to meet you on the mat!

The S/S Collective is an inclusive, open minded collective of healers and facilitators. We were connected through yoga training first, and bring additional skills to the experiences that we create, hoping to embody and honor the uniqueness in all of us. We have open arms, hearts and the goal of providing practical tools that support one’s own exploration and journey.  

We are so excited to share the magical energy of the Sakala community with everyone, and our current offerings span yoga, meditation, sound and energy healing. We will be offering a regular schedule of experiences at Sakala this fall on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings, and look forward to continuing to connect with all who enter this space. We can create customized classes for community events, corporate or team building, bridal showers or bachelorettes, birthdays and more!

Sarah is a play alchemist, bringing elements of play and joy into wellness and spirituality! Her love for magical things started when she was a child through collecting crystals, doing dreamwork, learning numerology and creating flower essences. This ultimately brought her to Naropa University where she received her M.A. in Environmental Leadership. She brings that childlike curiosity to her healing work to help others tap back into their own playful curiosity. She holds a strong passion for her work because play is a vital component to our wellness. When we allow ourselves to tap into a playful state of mind, we elevate our consciousness and raise our vibration because play is love. Otitechmocnelilih! I'm Sequoia Safe Garza-Keith. A Xicana Curandera, rooted in native Mexican practice and religion. With a college background in Biochemistry and Healthcare Management, I remain level headed in science while practicing traditions that bring the body & mind into alliance and resolve the spirit's turmoil. Such as Nierika, Yuwipi, Limpias, and Tengdíos. I am now a student of a Lakota Shaman, and have practiced under a Pueblo Shaman with Lakota techniques. While Lakota practice has seemed to find me often, I am tied to Wixárika indigenous practices, by my blood. I work with Death, and am proud to bring grief and transcendence into a state that is no longer feared, but relinquished by honor and love.

The Center for Trauma and Resilience (CTR) has been offering small group trauma sensitive yoga classes for over a decade. In that time, the organization has hosted affinity groups for Black women, Muslim women, queer folks, formerly incarcerated folks, people who are experiencing grief, people who have survived sexual assault and more. The organization operates under the value that every person deserves to have support in healing and recovering from trauma and approaches that from many angles. Their services include: therapy, interpretation, advocacy and case management as well as somatic and holistic healing services. With over 30 years in the service of crime victims and other trauma survivors, CTR has made a reputation for changing lives. 

Currently, Vanessa WIlliams is serving as the lead instructor and community liaison for the Befriending the Body Program (BTB). BTB houses trauma sensitive yoga groups, ear acupuncture, tai chi, zumba and reiki at no cost to the participants. You may have seen them around Sakala as they host groups from the space and also have their independent offerings. Vanessa Williams is a Trauma Sensitive Yoga facilitator and coordinator for the Befriending the Body somatic therapy program at the Center for Trauma and Resilience. While having practiced yoga for many years, Vanessa became passionate about sharing the healing benefits of yoga through her own journey with grief and loss. She  completed her 200 hour teacher training with Satya Yoga cooperative in November 2022. Her professional experience and formal education are in human and family services and fitness, she feels incredibly blessed to be combining the two in her current role in community . When Vanessa is not on her mat, you can find her running behind her four and a half year daughter, having dance parties or on an easy going adventure somewhere outdoors.

Trish is an Author, Trauma-Informed Breathwork Facilitator, Energetics Coach, Astrologer, Reiki Practitioner, and co-founder of Breath and Body School. Since leaving the practice of traditional medicine almost 30 years ago, she has been holding space for people to authentically heal in mind, body, and soul. She is passionate about helping people break free from the false, harmful narratives that keep them feeling sick, stuck, and separated from who they truly are and uses the modalities of breathwork and astrology to help people access and remember the deep wisdom and innate healing within their own bodies. Our therapist Valerie Davis is a certified breathwork facilitator, and is a Reiki II practitioner. We wanted to expand our holistic offerings even further and be able to provide valuable, body-focused healing for our clients. A session consists of education and intention setting, being guided through a breathwork journey (~40 min), and is closed with time to process what came up for both the participant and the guide. All sessions have the option to have reiki included as well!
