The Stewardship Council
Sakala is becoming a nonprofit, and we're looking for heart-centered leaders to help shape the future of a radically inclusive healing community.
If you're passionate about equity, accessibility, and collective transformation, we invite you to join our founding board- The Stewardship Council. We're not building a traditional board—we're cultivating a decolonized, collaborative leadership space rooted in care, equity, and co-creation. At Sakala, we choose connection over division and honor every voice at the table. We welcome diverse perspectives and lived experiences to help us imagine—and embody—a new way forward.

Roles of the Stewardship Council
We are currently opening five seats on the Stewardship Council and are seeking individuals who feel genuinely called to this work — people who value collaboration, presence, and shared responsibility. Each role carries a unique focus, and together they create a balanced circle of stewardship, leadership, and care.
-
The Circle Keeper: Guides the council with clarity and compassion, ensuring our work aligns with Sakala’s mission and values.
-
The Operations Steward: Brings vision into action, supporting coordination, logistics, and smooth organizational flow.
-
The Story Keeper: Holds Sakala’s collective memory through documentation, communication, and storytelling.
-
The Resource Guardian: Tends to financial and material wellbeing with transparency and alignment to our values.
-
The Bridge Builder: Connects Sakala’s internal circle with the wider community — including the Community Task Force — to ensure inclusivity and flow between all voices.
