Sakala is growing,
be a part of what's next.

Our Future, Rooted in Community

What's to come:

We’re stepping into an exciting new chapter — evolving from a community gathering space into a nonprofit organization. This transition allows us to deepen our impact, expand accessibility, and ensure that Sakala remains a space built with the community, not just for it.

Becoming a nonprofit helps us align our structure with our values of equity, inclusion, and community-centered leadership — so that the heart of Sakala truly reflects the people it serves.

We have several ways for you to get involved:

#1: Fill out the Vision Room Form!

Did you miss your chance to join us in person in the Vision Room?

We know that not everyone was able to be there with us- and that’s okay.

What matters most is that your voice still gets to be heard.

At Sakala, we deeply believe that every perspective, every idea, and every lived experience helps shape who we are becoming as a community. The Vision Room was just the beginning of a much bigger conversation about the future we’re co-creating together.

That’s why we created a simple way for you to still share your vision, your needs, your hopes, and your ideas with us.

We would absolutely love to hear from you.

Please use the form below to add your voice to the collective vision.

Join the Community Task Force

A collective voice shaping Sakala’s future.

The Community Task Force is an open, participatory circle where anyone in the Sakala community can share their perspectives, ideas, and feedback. This group helps us stay connected to what’s working, what’s not, and what’s emerging.

Members of the Task Force will:

  • Offer input on community needs, priorities, and upcoming initiatives

  • Participate in open dialogue and surveys that guide Sakala’s direction

  • Elect one representative to serve on the Stewardship Council — ensuring that community perspectives are always part of the decision-making table

The Stewardship Council

A community-rooted board for Sakala’s next chapter.

At Sakala, we’re reimagining leadership as stewardship — a shared, heart-centered approach rooted in care, trust, and collaboration. Our Stewardship Council holds the collective vision for Sakala, guiding the organization through listening, reflection, and co-creation.

Council Roles:

  • Circle Keeper: Guides the council with clarity and compassion, ensuring our work aligns with Sakala’s mission and values.

  • Operations Steward: Brings vision into action, supporting coordination, logistics, and smooth organizational flow.

  • Story Keeper: Holds Sakala’s collective memory through documentation, communication, and storytelling.

  • Resource Guardian: Tends to financial and material wellbeing with transparency and alignment to our values.

  • Bridge Builder: Connects Sakala’s internal circle with the wider community-  including the Community Task Force-  to ensure inclusivity and flow between all voices.
